What do the letters in Garmin ECHOMAP model names mean?
The number is the screen size (55 = 5", 75 = 7", 95 = 9"). “cv” models include ClearVü scanning sonar. “sv” models add SideVü side-scanning sonar.
Do I need a chartplotter or just a fish finder?
A combo unit gives you sonar and GPS navigation on one screen. For offshore or unfamiliar waters, the mapping is worth it.
Does the transducer come with the unit?
It depends on the bundle. Check each listing for “with transducer” or “no transducer.”
